Pyramidal and dense when young, developing a broad spreading crown when mature. Stems smell of wintergreen when wounded. Glossy brown bark when young, becoming thick and platy with age. Finest golden-yellow fall color of all native birches. Resistant to bronze birch borer. NATIVE.
